Kibaale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks are among the most exciting parks in Uganda. The main focus of this tour is Primates viewing, Eco-tourism, Birding, Big Five and the Gorillas.

  1. Day 1 Early Morning after your breakfast, Travel from your residence to Fort portal Travel takes about 7 hrs. Drive

    Early morning after breakfast we will departure from your residence to Fort portal, lying in the shadow of the mountains of the moon. Afternoon, if time allows, a visit to Magombe swamp or Bigodi wetland sanctuary, take guided swamp walk to see smaller animals and primates. Find the rare red colobus monkeys and the Sitatungas. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibaale (https://ugandalodges.com/primate/primate-lodge-photos/) or its equivalent.

  2. Day 2 Chimpanzee trekking and other Primates

    After breakfast, proceed for the trekking of the Chimpanzee and other primates including l’hoestes, red colobus, blues, and red tailed and gray-cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations on primates and forest flora and fauna. The walk is both informative and enjoyable.   3. Day 3 Early morning travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park viewing the Rwenzori Mountain ranges for much of the journey. An attractive game drive with views of the big five animals and others. See the Uganda kob, baboon, lion, elephant, buffalo, hyena, chimpanzees and the giant forest hogs. After the game drive enjoy your lunch as you prepare for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and into Lake Edward passing through the place of the highest concentration of hippos and other animals basking in the waters. The launch cruise is an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge (https://mweyalodge.com/) or its equivalent.

  4. Day 4 Game drives in the park

    Early morning game drive after breakfast in the rich ecosystem of tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes, savannah vegetation and volcanic craters home to an incredibly large numbers of wildlife providing an excellent opportunity to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda cob, topi and bush buck.   5. Day 5 Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Drive through the Kigezi highlands popularly referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa” with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Buhoma. Connect to Bwindi where you will check in at Bwindi Lodge (https://volcanoessafaris.com/bwindi-lodge-uganda/) or its equivalent. Have a relaxed evening as you prepare for tracking of the exciting gentle giants, the gorillas.

  6. Day 6 Gorilla Tracking

    Very early in the morning prepare for the gorilla tracking in the Bwindi rainforest. What is more striking is the steepness of the dense forested valleys with numerous animal trails making it accessible to tourists. Passing through numerous forest trails, it creates a clear view of mammals including the endangered mountain gorillas, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, and giant forest hog etc. Bwindi is popularly known for its fascinating gorillas. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer.   7. Day 7 Travel back to Kampala (About 10 hours drive)

    Early morning after breakfast, return back to Kampala with stopovers en route to view the attractions along and lunch in Mbarara.
