Entebbe- N’Gamba Island – Sanctuary of Orphan Chimpanzees In the morning rest and you get ready for to meet your English speaking guide driver as well as the other small group participants.
Afternoon depart for Ngamba Island Sanctuary by boat. An English speaking guide will show you around the sanctuary, explain the operation and usefulness of the sanctuary and attend the Chimpanzee meal. The Ngamba Island Sanctuary is a project set up by several international conservation organizations, including the Jane Goodall Uganda Institute.
It aims to provide orphaned chimpanzees a safe place, safe from poachers, where they can live in peace. Island sanctuaries make it impossible to use fences (chimpanzees can not swim). The project also aims to educate communities around and visitors about this endangered species and the importance of preserving their habitat to the closet relative of ours.
Ngamba Island, 23 km south of Entebbe, is cut in two: 98% is only jungle, the rest is used for setting up the chimpanzee research and support sanctuary as well as for the reception of the visitors, school groups and communities that are sometimes given the opportunity to visit the island.
The profits from visits to this sanctuary (where you can spend the night in beautiful tents) go directly to the NGO that is responsible for this project and thus participate in the preservation of these chimpanzees. Free dinner and accommodation at Lake Victoria Hotel.
Entebbe- Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi – Gorilla Mountain Estate Departure with your guide driver for the impenetrable forest of Bwindi (about 10 hours of road). We recommend you visit the community on foot with local guide and this is one way to support the community members . Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: This is a real African jungle, the richest in Uganda. His name qualifies this site particularly well, since it is almost impenetrable! What is surprising is the calm that reigns there. But between ancient trees and their parasitic flowers (such as orchids or giant bamboos), this jungle has a particularly rich fauna. Mountain gorillas share this protected area with chimpanzees and at least 8 other primate species, as well as elephants, pigs and wild boars, bats, more than 340 bird species, 14 species of snakes, and a minimum of 200 species of butterflies. This forest is one of the rare sanctuaries of mountain gorillas and we find here half of its world population (350 animals out of 650 based on the concluded gorilla census). Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Gorilla Trek Departure with your guide for an unforgettable day of walking in the forest in search of Gorillas. Good physical condition is necessary because the trek is somewhat unpredictable. An excursion can sometimes take up to 6 or 8 hours. For conservation reasons, the

You will stay a few meters from the family and will have the privilege of spending time on their side (about 1 hour). Return to the lodge for a late lunch. Afternoon walk or rest.
